University of Scouting and Program Launch Draws Record Attendance

The University of Scouting, an annual educational event for youth and adult leaders involved in the Patriots’ Path Council Boy Scouts of America, has just concluded with a record attendance of 250 participants. Part of this attendance was for Program Launch, which kicks-off the 2023-2024 Scouting year.

The event was held on March 4 at Governor Livingston High School, and featured a variety of workshops, training sessions and information booths aimed at providing leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to better serve the youth in their Scouting programs.

This year’s University of Scouting offered a wide range of course topics, including leadership development, outdoor skills, program planning, and more. Attendees were able to choose from over 50 different courses, allowing them to customize their experience and tailor their learning to their specific needs and interests.

“We are thrilled to see such a strong turnout for this year’s University of Scouting,” said Marc Andreo, Scout Executive of the Patriots’ Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America. “The enthusiasm and dedication of our adult leaders is truly inspiring, and we’re proud to offer this opportunity for them to come together, learn from one another, and enhance their skills as Scouting volunteers.”

This is an annual event that is open to all adult leaders involved in the Patriots’ Path Council, regardless of their experience level. The event is designed to provide ongoing education and training for leaders, with a focus on ensuring that youth participants in Scouting programs receive the highest quality experience possible.

“The University of Scouting is an important event for our organization, and we’re thrilled to see such a great turnout this year,” said Andreo. “Our hope is that everyone who attended will leave with new skills and knowledge, and a renewed sense of enthusiasm for scouting and helping the community.”

The University of Scouting is just one of the many educational opportunities offered by the Patriots’ Path Council, all of which are designed to help youth and adult leaders provide the best possible experience for young people in their local communities. With a commitment to training and development, the Boy Scouts of America remains one of the most respected and influential youth organizations in the world.

Patriots’ Path Council would like to thank the Berkeley Heights Township School District, their Board of Education and James Finley Assistant Principal at Governor Livingston High School for their support. We are excited to come back next year and continue to grow this event.
