New Merit Badge Required for Eagle After June 30

Beginning July 1, 2022, the Citizenship in Society merit badge will be required for any youth seeking to achieve the Eagle Scout rank.

Any Scout who has not completed all rank requirements for Eagle, including Scoutmaster conference, by June 30, 2022, will be required to earn the Citizenship in Society badge to earn Scouting’s highest rank.

Please alert any Scouts who may be affected by this. A Scout who still needs one of the “90-day” merit badges should not wait until April 2 to begin, since it may take a few days to connect with his or her counselor and get signed off as completed.
