Youth Protection Topics for Youth Recently Released

Just recently, the national office released resources for youth to participate in different topics with Youth Protection. Curriculum can be worked on either at home or with the different rank or age criteria. Any previous curriculum for youth has already been discontinued for several years and must not be used.

In the Cub Scout program, a preview Adventure is available for the topic “Protect Yourself Rules.” A preview Adventures is a soft rollout to test an Adventure prior to being fully released. The Protect Yourself Rules preview Adventure may be used as an elective Adventure OR it may be earned in place of the Cyber Chip requirement for the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light badges of rank. If used in place of the Cyber Chip requirement for a rank, it may not be used as an elective Adventure for that rank. Check out the program by clicking here.

For the Scouts BSA program, there are two different series of videos for either a minimum Scout rank or age group. This Personal Safety Awareness may be used in place of the Cyber Chip requirement for the Scout and Star ranks. If used in place of the Cyber Chip requirement for a rank, Scouts are encouraged to inform their parents or guardians and unit leaders of the replacement prior to viewing the videos. Check out the program by clicking here.

In Venturing/Sea Scouting/Exploring, there is a single set of videos for individuals aged 14-17, which can be found here.

Any individuals 18 and over must continue to take the online Youth Protection Training program via my.scouting.org.
