2022 Recharter System Now Open

A message from Mike Wellech, council registrar:

The 2022 recharter is being processed through Internet Advancement this year, and the system is now open to volunteers.

You can review the Internet Rechartering 2.0 FAQs and the Internet Rechartering 2.0 User Guide we’ve included here.

Please reach out to your district executives with any questions.

A few notes that are worth mentioning…

  1. Internet rechartering is done through https://Advancements.scouting.org
  2. The login is the same as for My.Scouting and Scoutbook.
  3. Only the Key 3 or the charter representative (CR) delegate have access to do the charter this year.
    1. The Key 3 consists of you charter representative, your committee chairperson, and your unit leader (Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Skipper, Venturing crew advisor and Explorer post advisor).
    2. If the unit wishes to have someone other than the above to process its recharter, the charter representative and only the charter representative can log into https://my.scouting.org, click on the menu button, click “Organization Manager,” select “Position Manager,” and finally “Functional Roles.” Here they’ll be able to assign a registered member of the unit as a chartered organization representative (COR) delegate position.
  4. If adding new members to the charter who are not currently registered with your unit, you can scan and upload their applications as part of the process of rechartering.
  5. No paperwork is needed to be delivered to council if you’re processing your charter entirely online, with the exception of the confirmation page and payment, if you are choosing to pay with a check at council.
  6. We highly recommend you pay at council. If you pay using a credit card or e-check, it will cost you more money. In addition, if there’s a mistake it is that much harder for us to process the refund for you.
