Sussex Klondike 2021 Scheduled for January 30

The Sussex Klondike will be held at Camp Somers on Saturday, January 30, 2021. The deadline for registration is January 22.

The event will be a daytime-only event due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The district is planning an in-person event at the camp, located at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation in Byram Township, with a virtual component for units that want to participate remotely. Plans are flexible depending upon New Jersey restrictions in place at the time of the Klondike.

Cost will be $15 per person and registration is open on the Sussex District Calendar at ppcbsa.org or by clicking here.

The Klondike Committee is chaired by Bob Reidmiller and Jeff Winkler.  Call Sussex District Executive Mike Loughman at 973-714-7308 with questions.

 

Blood Donations Urgently Needed

RWJ University Hospital Somerset, located at 110 Rehill Ave. in Somerset, is currently holding a blood drive for all blood types. New and returning donors are welcome.

Blood and platelet donors are urgently needed to replenish the hospital’s blood bank during the pandemic.

Appointments are required and are available at rwjuhdonorclub.org or by calling 908-685-2926.

Donors should bring a photo ID and should be sure to eat and drink prior to donating.

Social distancing and additional disinfecting guidelines are in place at all blood drives. All donors are required to wear a mask. You are not currently eligible to donate blood if you have been exposed to or cared for a positive COVID-19 person in the past 14 days.

Medical eligibility questions should be referred to a Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Donor Services staff person at 908-685-2926.

Fishawack to Honor Its Finest at Dinner

Fishawack’s Finest Fellowship Dinner is planned for Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Ave. in East Hanover.

Select one of the volunteers in your unit to receive the Fishawack’s Finest knot.  The only criteria for receiving the Fishawack’s Finest is the gratitude and affection of other leaders in your unit.

Name your unit’s Fishawack’s Finest honoree through the Fishawack calendar at www.ppcbsa.org (select May 18, 2021) by May 10, 2021.

Please arrange for your honoree and friends from your unit to attend.  Most units pay for their honoree and his or her spouse to attend.

Online registration for the dinner will be open March 18, 2021, to May 11, 2021, through the Fishawack calendar at www.ppcbsa.org.

Cost is $41 per person; $47 for late registration after May 11, 2021.
