Camporees Enjoyed by Scouts and Their Families

The Joint Fishawack/Sussex Scouts BSA Camporee was held at Camp Somers on Saturday, September 26.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions this was a “daytime only” event, but many troops decided to family camp after the program concluded. In total, 167 participants, including 13 troops from Fishawack and Sussex, enjoyed the program and excellent weather.

In conjunction with the Joint Fishawack/Sussex Scouts BSA Camporee, the Sussex District Cub Scout Camporee also was held at Camp Somers on September 26. Cub packs were invited to enjoy archery, BB guns, boating, fishing, and other fun activities. COVID- 19 restrictions limited this event to a daytime-only event, but various packs took advantage of the free family camping and stayed the night. A total of 173 Scouts, siblings and family members enjoyed a great program and perfect weather.
