Relationships Committee Seeks Members

Are you affiliated with a school, service club, religious organization or special needs group as well as Scouting?

The Relationships Committee is looking for individuals who are passionate about these organizations as we look to build stronger and better relationships for Scouting.

The primary objectives for the Relationships Committee are:

  • Establish and execute collaborative relationships and support needs plans with schools, service organizations, religious, special needs and Venturing charter organizations
  • Enable strong partnerships between charter organizations and sponsored units. e.g., through service projects, community events, etc.
  • Help charter organizations better understand Venturing and help facilitate new Venturing opportunities where there is interest
  • Identify and inform potential charter organizations of the value of the Scouting program

As a committee, we hope to:

  • Encourage community organizations to use the Scouting program
  • Conduct district relationships conferences for heads of chartered organizations and chartered organization representatives
  • Share information with other district leaders about how to work more effectively with various types of organizations
  • Promote the religious emblems program
  • Act in close liaison with council leadership to maintain or regain Scouting access to schools

The committee holds four quarterly meetings a year, and separate action meetings with partners as needed.
