Pack’s Flags Project Salutes Area Heroes

Here’s another great example of the Scout spirit thriving in this unprecedented time. Cub Scout Pack 513 in Morristown is proud of its Scouts for their recent efforts to show support and thanks to the local healthcare and public safety professionals for their brave dedication and commitment to the community during the COVID-19  outbreak.

Ten-year-old Callie Danysh, with help from her mom, Andrea, and her entire den, led the effort to create 500 support flags placed at various locations including Morristown Medical Center, local police stations and firehouses in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains, as well as the Morris County Courthouse.  With inspiring messages and pictures on each flag, Callie’s project fulfilled her Cub elective service project “Build My Own Hero” and she called the project “ Flags of Gratitude.”

According to Callie’s mom Andrea,  “She wanted them to recognize how much they are loved and appreciated in this community. Positivity and smiles are, too, contagious.”

This young Scout could not stay home without doing something within her means to help make a difference during this challenging time. Pack 513 and the Danysh family are also raising funds and food for hospitals and the Interfaith Food Pantry.
