2019 Re-Charter Reminder

Hello Patriots’ Path Council Units,

During the week of September 3, 2018:

The committee chairperson and your unit leader (Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Venture Crew Advisor, and Skipper) will have received an email regarding the 2019 re-charter. Much like last year, this email included your unique access code and links to all the information needed to re-charter your unit for 2019. If the person receiving that email is not your re-charter processor (adult designated by your unit to process your 2019 re-charter), please have them forward the email to the correct person.

*****Note: LAST YEAR’S CODE WILL NOT WORK THIS YEAR*****

Adult Activity Fee Reminder:

As a reminder, the council had issued a statement this past June, about the adult activity fee. All renewing youth and adults will be the same price ($63.00 each).

Youth Protection Reminder:

Every so often, national updates the Youth Protection Training course and mandates that all adults retake the new course before the following recharter period. The latest update took place last February.

So, if you have an expiration date on your YPT that is still good, but have taken the course prior to February 1, 2018, national has changed your expiration to reflect September 30, 2018, ensuring that you retake the new youth protection training course to stay on the charter for 2019.

There is no longer a separate Youth Protection for each type of unit. National has decided to combine them into one all-encompassing course, broken out into 3 modules (YPT Overview and Policies, YPT Sexual Abuse Prevention, and YPT Bullying Prevention) and 1 quiz. You will be able to retake the quiz as often as is needed to pass. Your certificate will be emailed to you upon successful completion of the course. Include this certificate with the recharter paperwork being submitted to council to ensure your records are updated. All 3 modules and the quiz must be completed to get full credit.

October 1, 2018:

The Internet Re-chartering website becomes active October 1, 2018. Once live, you’ll be able to access your online re-charter using the link and the unique access code, both supplied in the email mentioned above. Remember, everyone logs in as a first-time user at the beginning of each re-charter season, regardless of your re-charter processor status from the prior year.

Questions about your recharter can be directed to your district commissioner, or your unit service executives.  Contact information can be found below:
