Membership Road Show Update

Membership Road Shows – A recording of the Black River District Membership Road Show is posted at https://www.facebook.com/ppcbsa/videos/403215673538720/.  Technical difficulties limited how much we got on camera but our presenters gave a wealth of information about Best Recruitment Practices, Family Scouting, Lions, and New Member Coordinator.  On the recording, the different topics begin:

New Member Coordinator – at 0:00

Family Scouting – 16:30

Lions – 35:00

Best Practices – 57:00

The segment on BeAScout.org was not recorded but all the materials that the presenters showed are available at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1kTNpk428gGnRmDXzTwOaEjvaXovO1mPM.

New Member Coordinator in Each Pack – The new member coordinator is a new position on each pack’s committee.  Your NMC makes sure that new families are welcomed and leave their first meeting connected with the pack.  This is a great way for someone with an outgoing personality to help families feel at home right away.  They wear a distinctive red polo shirt that makes them stand out for the new folks to find.  See attached brochure.  On the adult application for your new member coordinator, write “NMC”.   If one of your current committee members is taking the NMC role, please let us know by emailing al.thomas@scouting.org.

Ordering Materials for Cub Scout Recruitment – The form for ordering Cub Scout Recruitment Materials is attached.  It has pictures of the flyers that are currently available.  You can also order lawn signs, posters, on boarding envelopes, etc.  All materials are free, paid for by Friends of Scouting donations.  The form can be faxed to 973-267-3406 or scan it/send a photo to Beth.MillerPorter@scouting.org.
