About Mike Loughman

Michael Loughman has had an extensive career in law enforcement.  He was appointed Chief of Police for the Township of Morris on November 1, 2002. Chief Loughman began his career as a police cadet in June 1973, and was appointed as a patrol officer in January 1975. He was promoted to sergeant and lieutenant before being promoted to the rank of captain in May of 1995. Mike has a BS from American University and a Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University.  Mike is also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

After retiring as Chief in 2008, Mike went to work as a security manager.  After several years, he decided he wanted to continue making a difference and this is what led him back to Scouting.

Mike was also heavily involved as Scoutmaster and various other roles in Troop 34 at Assumption Church in Morristown.
