June “Send A Scout to Camp” Tribute Fund Contributions

By making a contribution to the Patriots’ Path Council’s tribute fund, you can help “Send a Scout to Camp,” and express your feelings to the entire alumni, friends, and membership of the Patriots’ Path Council.

There are several opportunities available to send a tribute to someone. You can congratulate an Eagle Scout, celebrate an anniversary or a birthday, remember a friend or a loved one, or a simple “get well” for someone who is ill. A tribute card is sent to the person, organization, or family, and an acknowledgement is sent to the contributor. All donations are put into our adventureship endowment fund where the interest earned is used to help Scouts attend camp, high adventure activites, or trainings.

Below are the tributes received during the month of June:

Michael Sutherlin in memory of Mary Tomchuk

Robert Kanc in memory of Mary Tomchuk

Charles Boucher in memory of W. M. Boucher

The Flintlocks in memory of EJuanita Sumner

Dave Setzer in memory of James Zito

NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING (NYLT)

NYLT is a rigorous youth leadership training program that provides life skills and is designed to benefit and enhance the leadership teams of both Troops and Ventures. It is FUN, Challenging and Informative. Upon completion each participant will receive a certificate from this nationally recognized program.

The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what a leader must KNOW, and what a leader must DO. The key elements are taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the participants go on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership. NYLT is a seven-day course. Content is delivered in a troop and patrol outdoor setting with an emphasis on immediate application of learning in a fun, guiding environment. Interconnecting concepts and work processes are introduced early, built upon, and aided by the use of memory aids which allow participants to understand and employ this “Tool Box” of leadership skills much faster.

Patriots’ Path Council has two more NYLT 2016 programs coming up.
