2017 National Jamboree – July 18 – 28, 2017

Come join the Patriots’ Path Council on an adventure to the 2017 National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virginia. This is a once in a lifetime experience where you will be able to explore the mystery, adventure and beauty of a West Virginia summer along with the adventure of Scouting. Be prepared for fun and adventure while being part of either a provisional troop or provisional co-ed crew. Philmont 2017

It is not too early to begin making plans for 2017.  At this time we are accepting Philmont contingent crew applications for travel in 2017.  If your troop or crew is interested in attending Philmont Scout Ranch in June or July of 2017, click here to obtain further information and a contingent crew application.  Your application needs to be received by January 22, 2016 to be eligible for the crew selection process.  And to help you prepare for the Philmont adventure, there are several slots still available for a Watchu Sabattis Adirondack Trek.  Apply for the 2016 Sabattis trek and 2017 Philmont adventure at the same time, and you are guaranteed a spot for Philmont.


Philmont 2016 Openings

We have 6 openings within our 2016 Philmont contingent.  The price for this adventure at this time is $2050, which includes airfare, Philmont fees, touring, training, and other incidentals.  The openings are for either youth (ages 14-18) or adults.  Available opportunities:
Travel dates June 28-July 12, 2016            1 opening for either a youth or adult – Fishawack area

Travel dates July 10-24, 2016                       3 openings – 2 youth and 1 adult or 1 youth and 2 adults – Sussex area

Travel dates July 10-24, 2016                       1 opening for either a youth or adult – Watchung Mountain area

Travel dates July 14-28, 2016                       1 opening for a youth – Raritan Valley area

The Devin Donnelly Papp Memorial Scholarship

The Devin Donnelly Papp Memorial Scholarship is a $40,000 award ($10,000 per year) given every year to an active Patriots’ Path Council Boy Scout who has demonstrated leadership in the Boy Scouts of America and who has shown fine academic achievement on the secondary school level.  The Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council, Cedar Knolls, NJ administers the scholarship.

The successful candidate must be a high school senior, an active Boy Scout from Patriots’ Path Council, complete a scholarship application and be accepted as a full time student to Albright College.

The completed application is submitted to the Scout executive of Patriots’ Path Council no later than January 15th for the next fall term.

The scholarship is awarded upon entrance to Albright College.  It is contingent upon the recipient studying full-time on campus, maintaining good academic standing and being active with the Albright College Volunteer Center.

Albright College is an excellent liberal arts school located on a 110-acre suburban campus in northeast Reading, PA.  The college established the scholarship in memory of Devin to acknowledge his contributions to Albright as a student and to his community as a junior leader and Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
