Cub Scout Leader Recognition Awards Change

National has changed the way to earn Cub Scout Leader Recognition Awards.

Scouters who have begun to work on the Cub Scout Leader Recognition Awards will still be able to earn them as long as they are completed by the following dates:

  • Tiger Cub Den Leader Award-December 31, 2012 (this knot has been retired-orange/black knot) You must now use your start date from 1-1-13 for the new knot.
  • Webelos Den Leader Award-December 31, 2012 (this knot has been retired-all yellow knot) You must now use your start date from 1-1-13 for the new knot.
  • Cubmaster Award- December 31, 2013
  • Pack Trainer Award-December 31, 2013
  • Cub Scouter Award-December 31, 2013

RANGE MASTER TRAINING

For Cub Scout Leaders 18 or older

     Camp Wheeler at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation

BB and Archery certification offered – good for two years.

Take one or both!

Archery:  9:00 AM – Noon   BB:  1:00 – 4:30 PM

Cost:  $15.00 for one course, $20 for both

This training is required for running Cub Scout shooting sports events.  This is especially helpful for district camporees, etc.

There is limited space so sign up early! No walk ins accepted!

Eagle’s Nest Year-Round at Camp Somers

Scouts who are First Class and above can attend Eagle’s Nest Year-Round at Camp Somers to work on select Eagle-required merit badges. Fall monthly sessions resume Friday September 6th. For details, please visit  http://www.camps.ppbsa.org/camps/somers/eagles_nest.htm

Scouts are encouraged to select NO MORE THAN THREE badges to work on at Eagle’s Nest. Other merit badge counselors’ names are available by asking your Scoutmaster for referrals.

Scouts must leave a voice message for Mrs. Pat Hawkins at 973-765-9322 Extension 420 NO LATER THAN 7:00 pm on the Monday before the session. All appointments are first come, first served.
